After achieving massive pop success with 1985's Songs From The Big Chair, Tears For Fears took 4 years creating their followup, and I don't think anyone was expecting the epic album we actually got in Seeds of Love. Even the massive "Sowing The Seeds Of Love only hinted at just how big this album is, with the majority of songs running longer than 5 minutes, and many encompassing long intro sections with intricate instrumentals.

It's really hard, probably even impossible for me to pick a favorite song, it's one of those where every single song on the album is my favorite while it's playing. But the one that really blew me away was the second-to-last song on side 2, "Year Of The Knife" - a high energy, almost gospel tinged tune that combines everything we'd come to expect from the album up to that point. If you ever have the opportunity to watch the band's "Going To California" concert video, the live version is even better! (I still have it on LaserDisc... but no longer have a way to play it...)

This is the brand new, 2020 reissue, and I'm so glad to finally have this amazing album in my vinyl collection!
