Description
Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks had known each other since 1966 while in high school. After playing together in the band Fritz, while students at San Jose State University, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks decided to drop out and recorded an album in 1973 as a duo. While with Fritz, the band was one of the opening acts, along with Quicksilver Messenger Service and Bloodwyn Pig, for Leon Russell on August 2, 1970 at the Aztec Bowl in San Diego.
From their album, here is Lindsey's song "Don't Let Me Down Again." On drums is Tulsa's legendary Jim Keltner, who's earliest work was on sessions for Gary Lewis, thanks to Leon Russell.
The album Buckingham Nicks, released in September 1973, caught the attention of Fleetwood Mac's drummer Mick Fleetwood, who invited Lindsey and Stevie to join the band. That was arguably the turning point when Fleetwood Mac became a huge supergroup. This song captured the sound that Lindsey and Stevie brought to Fleetwood Mac.
